The American Maharlika Kuntaw Association was formed in 1974, one of the first organized Filipino Martial Arts associations in the US. It has been  continually running and  spreading the  Filipino arts  since then. Take your time and explore the website. Check out the pictures, videos,  the resources, and the store.  Stop in and leave a message at the guestbook and check out the Newsletter. Some of the pages are still being worked on so they may not work. But check back later and see what  we have added.

Over the years the AMKA has tried to keep ties with its parent organization - The International Kuntaw Federation, but due to the inability of the IKF to follow thru with promises and with protocol we have decided to let them go their own way and we will go ours.

People have been advanced in rank who do not promote the art, compete, or even  run classes. The IKF  By-laws have been circumnavigated and it is a farce. The KNP is no longer  registered with the  Securities and exchange commission under GGM Lanada. The  SEC numbers that are listed on all certificates are  from the Kuntaw ng Pilipinas organization owned by a lawyer in Naga.  Story has it that GGM let the  registration lapse and it was bought by another gentleman to insure that he would be given rank, holding the sec numbers/title hostage.
